morsmordre-x:

Harry Potter Etymology | Colin Creevey

COLIN: Means “youth, child, or victor.” Also means “young dog,” which fits his devotion to Harry.

CREEVEY: A common surname. From Irish origin, meaning ‘prolific’ – possibly a reference to the creevey brothers’ persistence or from “Creeve” =”to burst,” suggesting the Creevey brothers’ excitability.

heart-ablaze:

"The Order of the Phoenix needs you. All of you."

When faced with the same question, "Will you join us?" each of them had very different reactions. Dumbledore had expected them to exchange glances at least, maybe discuss it as a group. But they had already discussed it, over and over again in the months leading up to that moment. They refused to sit back and watch this war happen, this was their war, their fight. This was their chance.

James, immediately looked up as the question was asked and replied hastily with a nod, “Yes,” without a second thought. For him, it wasn’t a chance to prove himself, or a rite of passage; it was a chance to save her.

Peter, took a little longer to decide. With sweaty palms and trembling muscles, he’d swallowed thickly and finally murmured, “Sure…”

Remus, was calm and collected. As though the question was nothing out of the ordinary. He set his Butterbeer down beside him slowly and with a thoughtful look on his face, he spoke firmly, “Of course, Professor.”

Sirius, had an interesting response. He said nothing. Instead, he looked over at their Headmaster and cocked an eyebrow, as if to say, "Did you really have to ask?"

courtneygodbey:

"Luna had decorated her bedroom ceiling with five beautifully painted faces: Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, and Neville. They were not moving as the portraits at Hogwarts moved, but there was a certain magic about them all the same; Harry thought they breathed. What appeared to be fine golden chains wove around the pictures, linking them together, but after examining them for a minute or so, Harry realized that the chains were actually one word, repeated a thousand times in golden ink: friends…friends…friends…friends… Harry felt a great rush of affection for Luna" — Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
